Uncrowned Community Builders’ 2018 Culture Keeper Awardee – Mr. Derrick M. Byrd, Jr.
From the beginning of the establishment of the Institute, Mr. Derrick M. Byrd, Jr. has consistently supported and contributed to the growth and development of the organization. As a founding Board member, he devoted over a decade of his time, talent and resources to advance the programs and mission of the Institute. He continues to this day to actively contribute to the Institute’s programs and initiatives. Thanks to his committed support of the Institute, we have made great strides in our efforts to identify, collect and preserve regional African American history. 09/27/2018 – Uncrowned Community Builder Fundraiser – And Program Launch
The 2018 Culture Keeper Awards be presented at an event, which will also launch the Institute’s re-vamped program, “Uncrowned Queens and Kings in the Wings: Emerging Community Builders”. The event will be held at:
the MES Lounge, 228 Franklin Street,
5:00 pm – 7:30 pm.
Donation: $20.00.
A portion of the proceeds will go to funding the Emerging Community Builders’ Scholarship.
